I'm wondering when they are going to lift out hose-pipe ban ~ we've had almost 4 solid weeks of rain!

KAT, AUSTRALIA

It's been FOREVER since I've posted here, but i am getting back into it. I WILL find the time :) And omgsh, this photo? Taken in the bathroom of a dinner i went to on Friday! The theme was Safari :)

KATIE, INDONESIA
8.16
Today...I am BACK!! After having my camera stolen, waiting ages for a replacement to make its way to Indonesia, being really, really sick and then away from home (and thus my computer) and I am finally back - back in Indonesia and back with Communal Global. Now that I finally have a decent camera (I still don't have an SLR but what I got will do) I now need to get out and take photos. While I am out in search of subjects I'll be pulling some from the past few months adventures. This picture to me represents a rare quiet moment for me traveling back from Canada to Indonesia. Emilie and I traveled over almost 50,000 miles together in the past 2 months. Here we are in the Hong Kong airport and Emilie is watching "Baby Signing Time", giving me a blissful 27 minutes of calm. What you don't see is the horde of paparazzi that were also snapping shots of this moment. About 15 Chinese travelers circling her taking pictures of the little girl that they kept saying looks like a "doll from the store".

MADDY, NEW JERSEY/NYC
8/16/10
Traveling in the Lincoln Tunnel for a night out on the town.

BECKY, PHILADELPHIA
8.16.10
'City life is millions of people being lonesome together.' Thoreau

RIKAKO, JAPAN

Kent and I had been sick over the weekend. Lots of medicine for my sore throat. We are fine now.

BUCKEROOMAMA, HONG KONG

SONYA, THE NETHERLANDS

I spotted this tiny antiques building while sitting at a traffic light. It's one of the tiniest buildings I have ever seen.

Caroline - It's been raining here, too, but not enough to cool things down, though. :( What's a hose-pipe ban?

  5. A hose-pipe ban is exactly that ~ you get a hefty fine if you use your hose-pipe on your garden, to wash your car, for whatever reason!

  8. Kat -- love that picture. What a fun party!

Sonya -- I love finding places like that!

Rikako -- Hope you fell better soon!

Caroline -- We were under major water restrictions last spring and summer and even with rain, it took awhile to get the restrictions lifted.
