5.20.2010 "TODAY"

Today we are excited to officially be welcoming our newest contributor: Kat from Australia! At the ripe old age of 16, she is already blessed with great technical skill and a love of photography! (How great is that, honestly?) We are so happy to have her on board. To learn more about Kat, go here to view her bio. We are also sad to be saying farewell to Nisa from the Bahamas. Her major summer travels and increasingly busy schedule have made it too hard for her to continue on with us and she will be missed!

KAT, AUSTRALIA
5.20 'Today'
Today, or tonight rather, the school looked like this. I am often fascinated by the sunsets we get here, and tonight was just one of those 'fascinating sunset' nights.

SARAH, GEORGIA
5.20 Today
I told my two oldest kids about a special trip we're taking with some friends once school is out. They are so excited!

Today, I have been editing (and editing and editing) and deleting (and deleting and deleting) over 1200 pictures that I took for my Aunt and Uncle's 60th birthday party last weekend. I am really happy with how many of the shots turned out. I've got the file whittled down to 200 some odd pictures now, which I think will be perfect! Phew! Now, on to the heavier editing. But I had to share one of my favorite candids. This is my cousin's daughter enjoying a juice bag on the lawn. Isn't she just downright edible? So fun!

5.20 Today
On a trip to Lamma Island, a couple of hikers ahead of us were stopping to take a photo and I wasn't sure what they were taking a picture of... until we saw this eensy-weensy friend.

EMILY, ITALY
5.20 Today
We went on a traditional Sicilian horse-drawn cart ride. They didn't have a traditional hand-painted cart (those are becoming increasingly rare), but we thought the horse was pretty spectacular!

RIKAKO, JAPAN
5.20 Today
I visited Shinto Shrine in Kirishima.

I was noticing that not all things have to be the same to be beautiful ~ diversity is awesome!!

Today I took some much needed "Me" time and read two new cookbooks.

SUKI, GERMANY

5.20 "Today"
"Pig Piss Season" is in full swing, and the farmers are busy getting their fields ready for planting...

BECKY, PHILADELPHIA
5.20.10 Today
Today I drove around in the country and found a pretty farm. Farms make me think of my Daddy. He is a farmer at heart.

5.19.2010 "MY FAVORITE COLOR"

BUCKEROOMAMA, HONG KONG
5.19 My favorite color
One of my favorite colors, especially in photographs. It's so vibrant. I love little accents in red, but you will hardly ever see me wearing red.

CAROLINE, ENGLAND (UK)
blossom,spring
....is actually purple ~ it's classy and rich! ~ but there's not much to capture that colour just yet, so pink runs a 'pretty' close second!

EMILY, ITALY
5.19 My favorite colour
Green!

My favorite color to wear is GREEN (hands down) but my favorite color to see, decorate with, and paint on EVERYTHING these days is robin's egg blue. These are a bunch of old frames I spruced up with a can of blue spray paint. I loved the end result!

BECKY, PHILADELPHIA
5.19.10 My Favorite Color is green!
Although I love all the colors of the rainbow, green is my most favorite!

RIKAKO, JAPAN
5.19 My favorite color
My favorite color is PINK. I used to like blue. After the girl was born, pink became my favorite.

ROCIO, BORDER OF MEXICO
My Favorite Color!
My favorite color is Pink of course but I love all bright summer colors purple, orange, yellow, green, etc! About 3 wks ago I got this colorful bras for just one dollar each...I was so lucky!

SARAH, GEORGIA

The color of my children's eyes. This is my youngest, but all three of them have gorgeous, blue eyes.

5.19 "My favourite colour"
Uh huh...a flower shot...but you honestly can't expect me to NOT post a flower under this theme, can you?! ;D My absolute fave colour has gotta be green...especially this time of year, with the very first leaves appearing on the trees, and my garden coming to life. I also loooove purple...and I happen to think combining the 2 is perfection :D

We're hosting our weekly "Tuesdays Around the World" blog-link party, and today we want to know - What did you learn today? Write and post about it on YOUR blog, then link up here (at the bottom of this post) and share your new-found wisdom with us! Be sure and link back to communal global in your post, and tell your friends to join in!

SUKI, GERMANY
Today I learned 5.18.
That sitting on a sofa in the city attracts people.

KAT, AUSTRALIA
'Today I have learned...'
That apparently my camera is now classified as a 'distraction' to my seven year old brother, Alex. So, with this in mind, i have to now sneak my photos. The day i have feared has come...my siblings are beginning to not love my camera lens as much as they used to....

RIKAKO, JAPAN
5.18 Today I learned...
I am always learning from my kids. Especially, “Endurance” is what I learn from them most.

TEZZIE, FINLAND
5.18 "Today I learned..."
Oh, I know...I'm all about puppies and flowers these days!!! But, today I learned that this little guy...my favourite out of all seven of them...is the only one to not have found a home to go to :( . That SERIOUSLY puts me in a dilemma...

ROCIO, BORDER OF MEXICO
Today I Learned...
Today I learned many facts about butterflies, moths, and caterpillars...♥ example: Some moths never eat anything as adults because they don't have mouths. They must live on the energy they stored as caterpillars.

SONYA, THE NETHERLANDS
5.18 Today I learned
Today I learned that when I made homemade pretzels for the first time, my kids looked at me as if I were Superwoman :)

CAROLINE, ENGLAND (UK)

...to appreciate the more simple things in life :)

LOLA, UTAH

Today I learned...that my little dude totally picks his nose in bed. I also learned that he may or may not be developing my (horrible) tendency to get CA-razy bloody noses. But who knows? Maybe (and hopefully) a "cease-fire" on all that nose picking is the only remedy needed! ha ha!

BECKY, PHILADELPHIA
5.18.10 Today I learned that I don't get basketball
Basketball confuses me! I am glad the kids have such a great time playing it though. Children make everything so exciting.
‘Fans never fall asleep at our games,
because they're afraid they might get hit by a pass.’
~George Raveling

SARAH, GEORGIA
5.18 Today I learned
That to have a fun, successful playdate, it is sometimes necessary for the pesky little brother to be out of the picture :) He went to a friend's house to play and Kathryn enjoyed a nice afternoon with her friend, without any annoying stunts from her little brother!

BUCKEROOMAMA, HONG KONG

Today I learned that my little girl loves music that she can dance to... and this is one of her current favorites.

Now it's YOUR turn! What did you learn today?
